Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet

Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet

Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet is an unsaturated spun bonded polyester mesh used in the exterior waterproofing process. The reinforcement mesh is used to strengthen and reinforce the two layers of Hydro Guard rubberized membrane when doing a basement foundation repair. Many waterproofing companies only use one layer of rubberized membrane, therefore forgetting to use the waterproofing reinforcement mesh. A proper basement leak repair requires the combination of two layers of Hydro Guard and the reinforcement mesh to ensure that your foundation walls do not re-leak.

Features
  • Will not absorb moisture or rot
  • Resists damage from soil acids and alkalis
  • Porosity allows good interply bond between layers of membrane
  • Exhibits good strength and tear resistance
Uses

Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet is used as reinforcement with both hot and cold applied waterproofing membranes. The mat provides tensile strength and control of thickness. When Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet is used with hot applied rubberized asphalt as reinforcement, it reduces pin holing over concrete decks.

Limitations

Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet should not be stored exposed to the elements. Store rolls on end.

Packaging

Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet is packaged in rolls 182.9 m (600 ft.) in length by 914 mm (36″) and 305 mm (12″) in width. Weight per roll is 5.7 kg (12.5 lbs) for 914 mm (36″) wide rolls and 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs.) for 305 mm (12″) wide rolls.

Application

Unroll Waterproofing Reinforcement Sheet into waterproofing membrane immediately after application of the membrane. Overlap fabric no more than 6 mm (1/4″) ensuring waterproofing membrane is applied between the overlapping plies so that no dry mat-to-mat overlap exists. Ensure that mat lies flat without wrinkles by brooming if necessary. Gaps between layers of fabric are acceptable if they are 6 mm (1/4″) or less.
